A Quick Look at Why I’m Blogging and Why You Should Love it Too

by Heidi on April 15, 2010

This post is from my 20sb Blog Swap partner – a day late but definitely not a dollar short. Be sure to check out her blog to see my post, about what I love about being a blogger.

Hey, I’m Pam from Reflections of a Neurotic Writer (long title, but I couldn’t think of anything at the time and this one kind of stuck.) I’m originally from Minnesota, and am currently living for the past 8 years in the wonderfully warm state of Louisiana. Huge change, but I love every bit of it. (Especially the food.)

I tired to start a blog back in 8th grade or so with Live Journal. Back then, I was not really computer savvy, so all of the layout, background stuff confused me. After attempting it for about a month or so, I let it go. I’m not even sure of my user name or if it is still active. (Scary thought…)

Many many years later, and hundreds of miles from home, I decided to try again with blogger because I was using everything else google and decided to keep going. Then moved to wordpress. I was at a point in my life that I graduated from college and was trying to find my place
in the big adult world. I didn’t tell ANYONE that I was blogging. I was nervous about what they would say to me about it.

Eventually I started reading some amazing blogs, found 20sb, and started to make some amazing friends. These are friends that I have never met (but hope one day I will), but have never judged me because of how I look or who I hang out with or what I own. They are always
there for me when I really need it most.

For me, the best thing about being a blogger is just getting to know people from all over the world that you would not have met any other way. I love looking back and seeing when my friendships with certain bloggers went from just starting out, to full blown understanding
about different situations because we started talking more personally.

There is also a sense of community, whether you participate or not (which you totally should). No matter your situation in life, age, or race. We all stick together and support each other. I love this!

I have even found myself asking my blog friends advice, more then my real life friends; because I know they will give me a more honest answer. And I always get amazing answers back and tons of encouragement.

Well, that in a nutshell is why being a blogger rocks.

So, what do you like about being a blogger?
