I gave my hand at NaNoWriMo. Again.
But I forgot to plan it out. And failed after 8,915 words and then pushed delete. I hated it all. Each word. I had no idea where I was going with it. I resented it, and just deleted the entire thing.
Then I remembered that my dear friend Liz and I once planned out my first novella over happy hour in Georgetown. The working title…”Thirty bad dates before you’re 30″ a compilation of all the bad dates and bad dudes I’ve encountered. (Fret not Ex’s…names will be changed to protect the “innocent”) I mean really, I wish I had been a “blogger” (as opposed to LJer) when I was in college because some of my war stories are epic.
Despite the fact that it’s been outlined for months, sitting in a notebook, I forgot about it.
So I failed NaNoWriMo. But I’m going to write that book. I seriously am.
In other news, while I continue to apply to teaching internship programs and figure out how we can afford for me to take classes – which will likely involve me getting a part time job of some form – I want to give my hand at freelancing again. I gave it up when I got the temp job this past summer before the wedding. I enjoyed it, the flexibility and the writing, but I need to get back into it. I need to finish wedding recaps at DC Nearlyweds (waiting on my wedding pictures!), I want to start blogging for Gals Guide again but I’ve just been battling the stay at home blues so I need to get back into…life.
So life, here’s me taking you back. It’s going to start by writing (and getting out more!).
And taking pictures. I want to start taking lots of pictures. Starting tomorrow in Manhattan!
This is the first happy post in a while and not gonna lie, I kind of like it. A lot! Freaders, I’m back.
