A Year in Blogging

To commemorate year 2 as a blogger….there’s a giveaway over at Legallyheidi Loves…

Technically, I’ve been blogging since 2001. It started as a love affair with Livejournal. Followed by another, “different” livejournal (I changed usernames) followed by wordpress.com starting today. Back in 2007. I quit the LJ. Saved entries. Deleted the rest. And then as of last year, here I am.

Living my life…in a lot of pink. And a lot of JCrew.

This year I … wrote about wedding planning, I ran another marathon and PRed, lost my job, tried to freelance (and failed), fiance lost his job, I got a new one, and in one week…from today, I’m getting hitched. I started blogging for DC Nearlyweds, as well as Gals Guide. I got a chance to meet so many amazing bloggers thanks to my trek to Chicago for BlogHer 2009 – my first time leaving the Eastern Timezone (in the US – I’ve left my time zone to go to Singapore and London and Amsterdam). Additionally, I was chosen as a Gap Brand Ambassador (which I’m still recounting over at Legallyheidi Loves – my review blog) which was incredibly exciting for me (since 1. I love to shop 2. I love the Gap!). All in all, it’s been an awesome year of blogging.

So I enter year three. I can’t wait to see the people who will come into my life, write as my first year as a newlywed, and see some of my other favorite bloggers get hitched as well!

    It’s totally a vanilla answer, but a good pair of jeans that fit well always make/break a girls entire look. There are the everyday jeans, the fat-day jeans, the skinny jeans, etc. Needless to say, my favorite piece of my wardrobe is by far my jeans!

    My favorite piece of clothing is…. by far…. my Joes Jeans. I had never splurged on designer anything until I tried a pair of these babies on at Anthropologie and the clouds parted and angels started singing. I have never had a pair of jeans fit like they do. It’s more than a fit, it’s like a soulmate sensation. And they are by far the softest denim I’ve ever wrapped my thighs in ;)

    I just purchased some really excellent gray wide leg trousers and a great mustard colored tack and I’m pretty much in love with both items. They are my most favorite recent purchases.

    However, my all time favorite article of clothing is a yellow t-shirt I bought at a Goodwill in Waterloo, IA (my hometown) when I was in high school. It is a Lion’s Club fun run shirt and it is incredibly comfortable. If I could, I would wear it every day with my favorite baggy dark denim jeans.

    My favorite article of clothing are my orange overalls for football season. I know they are tacky,but I love pulling them out each year for a new year of Clemson football. :-)

    Oh man, I want to say that little black dress that makes me feel sexy and hugs all the right places… BUT instead I am going to be honest. My single most favorite article of clothing is my husband’s green abercrombie shirt from high school that has been washed and dried so many times and is SO soft. It has velvet letters on it that have been totally destroyed, but nothing feels better that that shirt… and my man loves seeing me in his clothes, so I still feel sexy (=
