One of the greatest things about blogging, regardless whether you’re a personal blogger or otherwise, is the community. The networking.
I love all the great ideas that I’m constantly exposed to. Finding new books to read, a new pair of shoes that I adore after seeing them posted on someone elses’s blog. Little things like that make me appreciate the network of bloggers I have come to grow and love.

So tonight, I was so excited when I saw that Spring Reading Thing is back this year. Last year I did it and finished a lot of the books I set out to read, which is a pretty awesome accomplishment in and of itself. This comes on the heels of an afternoon trip to the library today on my way home from the coffee shop I spent the afternoon at. Given that I’m “jobless”, I should probably start utilizing that instead of the one-click option on amazon. (although as a note, jobless is a minor detail considering I’m interviewing a SECOND client on Friday morning before I fly up to Boston, let’s hope I have even more to celebrate!)
This year, since I’ve cut back on my reading (frustrating but I don’t have that massive, horrible commute anymore so it’s a catch-22 I suppose. I need to get back into it though, reading has always been an escape. I feel so behind given that it’s been nearly two weeks since I’ve finished a book. I need to take a couple hours each day to get away from the computer and read.
The books I plan to read between now and June 20?
1. White House Mess by Christopher Buckley finished 3.31.09
2. Lopsided by Meredith Norton
3. Matrimony by Joshua Henkin
4. Anybody Out There by Marian Keys
5. Return by Karen Kingsbury
6. Divorce Party by Laura Dave
7. Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall
8. It’s Not About the Bike by Lance Armstrong
9. Seeing Me Naked by Liza Palmer
10. Elegance by Kathleen Tesarro
11. Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs
12. Reunion by Karen Kingsbury
13. Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner
14. Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster
I’ll stop at 14 because I think that’s about 12 weeks from now, so that’s about right.
What are YOU reading this spring?? Any suggestions for me to add to my list??

I absolutely love “Elegance”…I read it every spring, it’s therapeutic and cleansing. I hope you love it!
xox
The only one I’ve read is Straight Up and Dirty, but you’ve inspired me to try and read more myself!
The problem is that I LOVE reading so much that once I’m into a book, I really don’t want to do anything else. At all. Aka no work gets accomplished
I’m currently reading Straight Up and Dirty, but you have inspired me to pick up some more books between now and the summer. I love the blogging community, as well, and how y’all inspire me to do different things. Thanks for this!
I have Friday Night Knitting Club. You can borrow it if you’d like!
I loved The Friday Night Knitting Club, too. And the sequel – Knit Two – is almost just as good.
Hey thanks for the list of books! I’m always looking for new suggestions.
If you haven’t read it yet, check out “Lamb” by Christopher Moore. Read it with an open mind and don’t take it seriously. It’s a great laugh and a fun read.
congrats on your freelancing success so far!!! that’s so awesome!
thankfully, i’ve been reading a lot more this year (btw, i began reading more heavily after frequently visiting your blog a year ago and seeing your lists of books).
The two books i can’t wait to read are: Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster and It Sucked, then I Cried by Heather Armstrong (dooce)
how does the spring reading thing work? Do you read one book per week????? I want to join in! I just got like 6 books to read so it would be perfect!
I am currently reading American Wife, so good. I am definitely going to look into this little challenge.
I just finished Remember (I read Return last week on my cruise) by Karen Kingsbury. I had no idea there were five books in the series, oops. Anyways if you like Return and want to borrow the other three (Remember, Rejoice, and Reunion) I’ve got them all.
oh those all sound fun. i’m currently reading “franpagini” and i don’t know what’s next but i have a ton to go on my list. good luck!
I loved The Friday Night Knitting Club!
I really want (/ am planning) to read Elizabeth Gilbert’s Stern Men … I am just nervous that I won’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Eat Pray Love.
Happy Reading!
