Glory Days

For the first time since 1994, the Northeastern Huskies have skated past the quarterfinals into the Hockey East Semi-Finals beating UMass Amherst in an exciting Game Three that ended in overtime with the Huskies winning 3-2. The Minutemen forced the game into OT scoring with less than a minute in the third period – the same fate of game two when NU tied it at 1 with 32 seconds left and won in OT to force the game three. The BC Eagles (#6 seed) upset #3 seed NH and the UMass Lowell Riverhawks upset University of Vermont to make the tournament. #1 Boston University beat University of Maine in game three tonight.

I’m pretty stoked about this, I listened to the game on WRBB, Northeastern’s student run radio station. When it was announced the goal, the broadcasters were so excited I couldn’t tell if it was NU or UMass. In my five years at NU we made the quarterfinals a couple of times but always got swept, my only wish? That I was there.

Go Huskies!!!
