Originally when we planned our impending jaunt up north to escape the madness that will be the Inauguration, we planned a little excursion to NYC for happy hour friday, followed a trip to Woodbury Commons in NY (where I will hopefully get fun new things from Vineyard Vines!) on Saturday, and then a trip to Boston to catch NU playing UVM and celebrate my BM S’s birthday.
Well first we ixnayed NYC happy hour. We’ll be getting into NYC around 545ish, and meeting folks for a happy hour till 8 or so, would put us up to CT around 10 or so. Earliest.
Then we planned on going to Boston Saturday into Sunday instead of just Sunday to bring his sister back to school. Welllll, his sister’s not going back till Monday. Boo-urns?
Soo, we nixed Boston – too much traveling and too much uncertainty. Bummer because there was a lot of people we wanted to see.
Instead, we were sitting here, talking about the latest book that I’m reading for my book club, “Garlic and Sapphires” and I mentioned how I’m not sure I’d want to go to Le Cirque based on the experiences of the author – my experience would probably be a lot like Molly. Less like Ruth. I’m not into the hoity toity 5 star restaurants. Jesus, I felt out of place when fiance and i went to Sequoia for our first valentines day.
“I want to go to Bobby Flay’s new restaurant. Wait no, I want to go to like EVERY PLACE we’ve seen on Food Network.” (note, we’re huge fans of Iron Chef America and Throw Down with Bobby Flay)
“Wait…wait….why don’t we go to NYC on Tuesday? We can get lunch at Arthur Avenue, and hit up the JCrew Sample sale!” I exclaimed. He pointed at me and said “YES.”
This my friends is real love.
So for all you NYC Bloggers – here’s the info!
