Well well well. I promised you all I’d bring back Wedding Wednesday didn’t I? Well it’s back.
We are officially 8 months and 5 days from our wedding. I’m starting to freak out. My to do list here at work is half work crap and half wedding crap. None that I can get done because Oh, my dress is in, they’ve called me twice, I missed their calls. I’ve called them THREE times, left a message, and then realized this morning as I called that they’re not open Wednesdays. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SCHEDULE MY FITTING WHEN THEY’RE CLOSED?!?!?!
/end bridezilla
But whatever. It’ll get done. I can’t schedule it till the end of the month anyhow, my shoes just got ordered last week in a frantic showdown with the Shoe Gods at Nordstrom I called, I hunted and I almost cried. But these beauties are on the way.

The very kind man at Nordstrom understood it was IMPERATIVE that I have these shoes so they’re getting sent to me via some store…somewhere. Additionally? I stayed under my $100 shoe budget. WAHOO!
Now to find the veil. Ugh.
I digress….
Last night I finally settled on TWO finalists for the Bridesmaids Dresses. It’s been a big debacle just because I want my girls to buy something they’ll “wear” again (i say that hopefully while realizing it’s highly unlikely), something that’s not too expensive (capping it at $200) but I want them to…kind of match. Meaning, I want them all from the same designer.
So after scouring and reading reviews…wanting something mildly preptacular/classy, I decided that I would check out
Aria dresses and Dessy dresses.
Liz and I will having lunch, and then venturing to Dupont and Georgetown this Saturday to check the dresses out. Then I’m going to make a decision – a color and the designer and say “go to it ladies!” I’ll be up in Boston in February to go with S, T and L to pick out their dresses. I’ll see if I can get my sister to come down though it’s HIGHLY unlikely.
I really love love LOVE the Aria dresses – the pictures from the website are amazing – the ones I love?

also i like this…

but I like the variety of styles. I like the colors. Though I think I may settle on green dresses instead of navy…we’ll see. The dresses also come in just under or around $200. Nice! Hopefully my girls like them too!!

I loved that green wedding too! When I was deciding on bridesmaid dresses that is the picture I sent my bridesmaids…too funny! Although I ultimately chose J. Crew, Aria was a close second! Also, I wanted to get one of their dresses (hmm I can’t remember the number, but the picture on their website has it in gold and it is super poofy/ballerina like) to change into at the reception. Super cute dresses!
I wore an Aria dress in one of the weddings I was in and liked it a lot. It was the same green, but with yellow. It was full-length, and I keep telling myself to have it hemmed to tea-length, so I can wear it again, but three years later, it still hasn’t been done. One of these days….
If you want to see pics, let me know
So exciting!
I love having the bridesmaid dresses in the same color/designer. That’s one of the things that I would have done differently. It’s fun seeing their personalities come out and it looks great in the pictures!
oh the shoes are so cute. and the bridesmaid dresses look very cute too. love the idea of letting your bridesmaids choose, my friend did the same thing and it was perfect.
Thanks for the bridesmaid dress ideas! I was thinking that David’s Bridal was the only thing that was affordable…
I’m so excited for you… everything will fall into place – I promise! PS Adorable shoes
Those green dresses are beautiful! And I love that you’re having dresses that people will wear after the wedding. One-time bridesmaid dresses are so sad!
I’ve always liked the idea of picking the dress line and color and letting each gal get her preferred style. There’s something so less generic about it.
I like the navy strapless or halter ones. And the knee/calf length style is great. I would definitely wear those again. You know, if I was in your wedding
Also, the shoes are super cute!
I love the navy, but, of course, that’s just me.
My sister just began planning her wedding:)
i LOVE those shoes!! they are absolutely adorable. i love having the dresses all the same color but whatever style they are most comfortable in, it makes everyone so much more relaxed. i can’t believe it’s only 8 months away!!!
