A New Year…a new project

by Heidi on January 2, 2009

As I mentioned the other day in my resolutions for 2009, I want to focus a lot more on my marathon training/running.

I’m a bit disappointed in myself for not making it out to the Resolution 5k this morning out at the Mount Vernon Trail – we didn’t do anything crazy last night, I fell asleep by 12:30 on the couch. We had dinner at Matchbox on 8th Street – delish just so you  know, if you’re in the DC Area you should definitely check it out. The ambiance, food and service were all SUPERB. We then picked up a flask of Bacardi and if you caught my tweets (multiple…whoops) you’ll know we were probably the only jerks drinking in the near empty theatre while watching Marley & Me. I had just finished the book yesterday and today Fiance is happily engrossed in it. The movie was great – a real tear jerker. There were certain things that were missing that I felt could have been added but all in all they did a pretty great job with it.

We then came home and rang in the New Year with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin which was a HILARIOUS pairing on television, and drank some Martini and Rossi Asti -  a sweeter champagne that I’ve had once with my family. I picked up a bottle of sparkling red champagne also, Fiance loves trying new wines/champagnes that are interesting.

I digress, new year, new project so pop on over to my new Fitness blog – there will be running playlists, workouts, book reviews/magazine reviews, sharing of running related articles, healthy recipes…go check it out – Fitness in Pink!

Mostly I’m going to be tracking my own training – workouts, track workouts, long runs, and of course my race reports for the 8k, 10 miler, and two marathons I have planned for next year. Go over there -  I haven’t yet posted anything, I’m still working on the theme and getting it set up but it’ll be up and running ASAP!
