Wedding Wednesday 12/3

See that? That was taken, on my desk at work, this morning thanks to my blackberry. My point? The save the dates are ALMOST done. I’m hoping to finish them tonight then all I’ll have to do is address the envelopes (and possibly make like…ten more but I’ll get there)

I printed the magnets last night before heading to the CT Society reception, we printed the cardstock the other night, and I lined the envelopes Sunday and Monday night.

The only flaw in my plan?

1. when i went to print the magnets manual feed into the printer, i forgot they were all…attached. Whoops? needless to say one sheet died in the jam (in that it wasn’t fully printed) but we’re still 50 magnets strong!

2. We ran out of the green paper we used to line the envelopes. It was a roll of green wrapping paper from the paper source - I had about…9 left to line. But no dice.

3. We still need to finalize the list and who gets them and who doesn’t before we send them out but we have about a month regardless.

DIY is so fun!!!

Tonight, actually, it’s more likely that I’ll be addressing christmas cards that we picked up yesterday from Target. Whoo hoo!!! I am on track. My to do list before 12/20 is looking RIDICULOUS - Christmas cards, set up the tree (before saturday!!) 16 dozen cookies and a treat for my sweet treat exchange partner! Secret bloggy santa (if you haven’t signed up for the 20sb secret bloggy santa do so!) various holiday parties/happy hours/cookie swaps/holiday lunches etc…etc…, a 10k (that i haven’t ran for…crap. crap. crap) and of course holiday shopping. *sigh* It’s daunting, especially since there’s only….16 days till we leave. (omg i can’t wait!!!) Hopefully I make it that far, a happy hour tomorrow, holiday party saturday, two on sunday, then wednesday, two on thursday, a lunch next friday, two that satuday, 10k sunday along with a cookie swap, and then my office holiday party the following friday, then we leave Saturday the 20th. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Let’s not make drinking like we’re 21 a habit for ALL of these events…not like last night which left me struggling to hold myself together on the metro and nursing the shakes at my desk for most of the day.

I’m looking forward to a good nights sleep and some tea tonight.

But this is our first holiday season where we’re actually SPENDING the Holidays TOGETHER not seeing each other the day after or whatever. Thanksgiving was our first major holiday (not counting Easter, birthdays etc…) together. New Years doesn’t count. But it was nice. It was relaxing. It was…great to be able to share with him how thankful I am for him.

Last night we were at a reception at our reception venue. We were talking with a friend of ours and I was just looking at him, thinking, wow. In less than a year, I’ll be looking at him as my husband. In this room. Dancing. And laughing and being married. I. Can not. Wait.

How are those of you brides to be getting through the holidays and balancing wedding planning etc…?

P.S. I am the best future daughter in law ever. Fiance’s mom has been having a stressful week with his grandmother being…not well and all, and so i sent her flowers to cheer her up. Tonight, I’ll chat with her while scanning china online that she was so excited to call me about last night. Anything I can do to help right?

I must be going at it all wrong because, even though my wedding is in August, I totally have nothing planned except the colors…

Spending the actual holiday together will be so fun! And a good way to help your families start to understand that now that you’re getting married, this is how the holidays will be from now on.

  11. Now that I have time for a real comment, haha. Great Save the Dates as I mentioned, and total AWWW-fest with the thought at the end there. That happened when Patrick and I went to Local 16 for dinner for his birthday and we went up to the room where the reception is. So excited.
