Monday Wants

by Heidi on November 17, 2008

“Happy Monday” says the girl who spent the morning trying not to blarf all over her desk. I don’t often have rough Sunday nights, but since the bar that fiancé and I have been going to for over two years is/was closing? I’ll allow it – who knows when the next time I’ll stand on a chair dancing to “Don’t Stop Believing” waving my arms above my head will be, though I gotta say…waking up at 8am and being uncertain if you’re still drunk, fending off a bad case of the shakes and trying to keep your stomach in check is not how I suggest ending an otherwise very relaxing weekend.

So always a nice way to ring another work week at a job that one loathes? Window shopping via desktop. Nice. I’m kind of liking this Monday Wants thing, it seemed to be a big hit last week and this way I don’t constantly bombard you all when I don’t feel like writing anything of substance but want to write something and decide to whine about how my budget sucks (well it does) and how IwantIwantIwant…it’ll be a once weekly thing.

From Delias.com (i know. lame.) $40

From Gap. It was on Fiancé’s sister’s Xmas list – and i fell in lust. Of course i did. It’s argyle. Me = nerd. $48

Also from the Gap. I’m in a sweater kind of mood lately. And more black. Weird. I’m usually more colorful. We got fiancé’s sis this sweater in blue. For 30% off. Thank you you and you for the 30% off coupon – we got her this and i managed to snag a couple new shirts/sweaters from old navy. $44

Finally, this weekend we also got a chance to be closer to finishing our registries. The item I’m STILL most excited about?

This bad boy. $400 at Macys

Also, this weekend I discovered a glorious piece of internet. If you have not added the Universal Amazon Wish list button to your tool bar? What the eff are you waiting for? It = awesome and allows you to add items from stores ALL OVER the internets. Like that purse at Etsy? “add to wish list” and Everyone who see’s your amazon wish list has the chance to buy the purse/hair pin/earrings/whatever you’ve been lusting for on Etsy/Gap/Old Navy/where ever. It’s. Amazing.

it really is that awesome. No lie.

Anyhow, I’ve got a bit of work to finish up in the next hour – otherwise I’ll be working late and I can’t be having that. Hope everyone else’s Monday was a helluva lot better than mine.

I have that KitchenAid, in red, as well. It is SUBLIME. (Graduation gift. Refurbished. Still good as gold.)

I totally splurged with that 30% off Gap coupon! Oops. But I have to work on Thanksgiving AND Christmas, so I figure I can at least do it while wearing cute clothes.

My friends in Ireland have a nice term for what happened to you this morning. They would say you woke up in “tatters” and trust me, I know how it felt. Hope you are feeling better and were productive at work. The shoes from delias are adorable!

I had been DYING for a KitchenAid… then my roommate (who was engaged and thus got wedding presents but is no longer engaged) moved in and brought with him a beautiful stainless steel KitchenAid. Amaaaaazing.

The KitchenAid mixer is the ultimate gift. I love it sadly don’t need it, considering I suck at cooking.

If I ever finally get to have a wedding registry (seriously where is my husband to be? I am about to send out an APB!) the KitchenAid mixer will be the first thing on my list. I will be almost as excited about that as I will be for the wedding! And in red because it is just perfection. You know they have a pink one sometimes in October, but I think I might not love pink forever. Red is timeless and easier to match.

I don’t know if you have them out on the East Coast but I know you can get a 20% discount on the kitchen aid mixers at Bed Bath and Beyond b/c thats how I got mine for my cake decorating class. I have extra coupons if you want them. :)

The KitchenAid is so wonderful. After all these years we *still* talk about it being the best appliance we have. We just love it and use it to death! And the sweaters (especially the argyle) are darling!

Hope the rest of your week is splendid!

Since the first day I found the Food Network, I have wanted a Kitchen Aid Mixer. The moment my boyfriend and I talked about getting married, I interrupted him, saying, “Oh man. I’m gonna register for a KitchenAid mixer. I’m gonna get one for free. Let’s get married now.”

It kind of ruined the moment.
