A contest!!!

by Heidi on November 16, 2008

Inspired by the lovely Megan Crane – author of English as a Second Language, Everyone Else’s Girl, Frenemies (which i’m currently reading. finally) and Names My Sisters Call Me – who is having a contest on her blog where she picks 3 lucky bloggers for a chance to win an amazon book of your choice, under $10.

So today, I’m going to spread the wealth, pay it forward if you will. I’m a huge book nerd, anyone who knows me knows this. I live for books, amazon.com is my vice (along with red wine, and woodchuck/magners ciders but thats another story) so this month, to ring in the holiday season, I’m going to do my own Amazon.com give away.

Leave a comment here with a book you’d like – $12 or under – by November 22nd, and I will announce the winner on November 23rd through a random drawing. The book you choose, must be available to be sent through Amazon Prime so make sure it’s new and in print :)

My choice is New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. I have the other three Twilight books in hardcover but for some reason I’ve never gotten around to getting the second installment in hardcover. :)

I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this…but the Quidditch Through the Ages+Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them box set by JK Rowling. It’s definitely under 12 dollars, but if that’s not allowed then Harry, A History by Melissa Anelli. I just love Harry Potter x] Great giveaway!

Only one book!? So hard to choose. I’ll go for the next on my “to read” list; Digging to America, by Anne Tyler. Great idea, lovely.

fun!

I’m going with Angel Girl, by Laurie Friedman. It’s a childrens story, but I’ve been wanting it. It’s a newish book, but about a couple who survived a Nazi labor camp.

This is such a great idea! I actually started building out my “classics” library so if I were to win, I’d love to add either Tender is the Night or This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald to my collection.

I agree with Maxie — Chelsea Handler’s first book! I almost went and bought it yesterday. Great idea, Heidi!

And congrats on your marathon! You are a braver woman than I….

Okay, and as for a book…

I am going to choose a Megan Crane book, because I’ve read “Frenemies” and “Names My Sisters Call me” and I loved them. So I’ll go with “Everyone Else’s Girl.”
