Two Days Till Go Time

by Heidi on October 9, 2008

Marathon number 2 is in two days. TWO DAYS! This time in 48 hours I’ll have been running for an hour and a half.

My legs have been sore for no reason in particular, i’ve been taking it easy, i did pilates yesterday, fiancé and i went for a nice long walk around the neighborhood with puppy the other night, and now i’m just resting and trying to get in race mindset.

Don’t particularly know why I’m nervous but I am.

I made a schedule for the next 11 months before getting married…rather maybe not a schedule but a list of races I intend on running:

Turkey Trot 5k (DC) – 11/27/08

Jingle all the way 10k (DC) – 12/14/08

Cooper River Bridge run 10k (Charleston, SC) – 4/4/09

Country Music Half Marathon (Nashville TN) – 4/25/09

VT City Marathon (Burlington, VT) – 5/24/09

NYC Half Marathon (TBD) Summer 2009

Then of course, I get married in roughly 11 months (11 from Sunday!!!), am a bridesmaid in my pal’s wedding roughly a month after that so I’d rather not be training for anything after that though I am shooting to run Boston in 2010 – likely for charity, and I want to throw my hat in the lottery for the NYC marathon in 2010 also.

Now if I could get on a training plan, stick with it and try to become a morning runner. Sometimes I feel like I lack the heart of a true runner…*sigh* I joined a running club on meetup.com so I’m hoping to get out to a couple of their runs in the next few weeks and maybe I can find a running buddy to keep me motivated when I really need it. I figure I’ll take a week or so off, and then get back into it for the two upcoming shorter races.

Obsessed? Maybe. But I will look good in my wedding gown. Thats what this is all about. Anyhow, big race saturday. I’m ready. Bring it on Hartford!!!
