Wedding Wednesdays Week 2

Since I haven’t really been on my A game as far as planning - we have thank you notes to write for the engagement party that fiancé’s family threw us, we have to finalize the guest list, and I want to start researching DJ’s, Photographers, and Florists….however this weekend? We’re starting our Macy’s Registry.

Now, I don’t know how much I’ve talked about this all before, but I’m pretty effing excited. Like seriously.

I mean who doesn’t want free stuff? I know they’re gifts but I’m getting a whole new kitchen for free essentially…how rocktacular is that? Cause I haven’t ever had a kitchen of my own. I didn’t really start cooking till fiancé and I were together, till I moved in with him that is, I never cooked in college (lack of time and resources) and I was too lazy to cook in my old house where space and time were also issues. You try having three people cooking dinner at the same time and tell me how easy it is.

So I’m getting my kitchen. Dinnerwear I pick out. China that I pick out. Utensils, nice wine glasses not from Ikea, table settings, all that kind of good stuff. Let the games begin!!!

Also in other news, fiancé and I are in a race to lose 20 lbs. While 20 lbs might be a lot, my bmi has me as dare I say, slightly overweight. So really I’m looking to get that closer to 20 and lose some inches. So while that might not mean losing poundage, I’ll definitely tone up.

So originally, I was going to run a marathon, after last weeks fiasco and the dancing fiasco at the wedding in CT a couple weekends ago which resulted in me taking a few Advil for Arthritis pain, I’m reconsidering my marathon run. As much as I really really REALLY want to do marathon number 2, I sense I may need actual physical therapy to fix up my knee so I think I’m going to have to pass for this year but the Burlington City Marathon next year? Count me in!

Anyhow, I found this awesome lil workout guide on The Knot and I’m actually going to follow it. I should probably start writing down my workouts, and i’m going to only weigh myself once a week. I’ve also been printing out these lil guides each week and keep track of workouts/how much water i’ve had and how many fruits and veggies I’ve eaten.

So far it’s been good - this weekend I’ll buy a tape measure, (along with other goodies from the target that i noticed we need at home) and start keeping track of things that way. I need about two more visits to get my reimbursement from work…I am so on a roll.

Anyhow, I know there’s no pictures this week but next week? Hopefully I’ll be able to share some of the fun stuff we registered for :)

Have fun registering! I was not looking forward to that part of things but it turned out to be fun.

Registering definitely has to be on the best parts of getting married. My sister and I have been thinking we should start some sort of college graduation registry, since I love cooking but have no money to buy nice kitchen stuff. Why should I wait until I get married! hah

  6. Can I join in? I really realy really want to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. Well really by August 15th but don’t think that’s going to happen, but I just can’t quite find the motivation! Maybe I need to start a competition of my own!

I have a love hate relationship with running because of how good it makes me feel but of how much it can sometimes hurt my knees.
Good luck and thanks for the links!

You are so very on top of it all. It really is quite impressive.

  9. I’ve just told my oldest two daughters about your site - they are both engaged and planned to marry in June and September of next year. We need all the help we can get!

  10. Laurel says:

Wow, you are the fastest wedding planner ever! Good for you!

  11. ashley says:

More wedding stuff. What fun. You’re such a great planner.

  12. Sara says:

Trust me; none of those gifts are free. You ‘pay’ for them in the thank you notes you write, the showers you sit through and they anxiety you have leading up to your big day. That being said, it is one of the few times in life you can ask for, and actually get, EXACTLY what you want.

  13. As I’ve said, I simply have more weight to lose so clearly I’ll be able to beat you in this challenge.
