It’s supposed to be 99 degrees this weekend.
Ninety-nine degrees. Isn’t that CRAZY!?
I mean…whatever. I like summertime. I love the song “Summertime” by Kenny Chesney, drinking Moscato on the stoop, wearing cute dresses and skirts. Just those kind of summery things…
I do not however like the humidity that comes with summertime in DC. The humidity that suffocates you. The humidity that smacks you in the face when you step out of the air conditioned rooms.
Not to mention, boyfriend and I’s AC isn’t working right since the management needs to change the damn filter thingy and they’ve been sitting on their asses so I sense this weekend might suck without a fully functional air conditioner.
But generally, summertime is happy for me. Summer nights out in cute, summery tops with flip flops and flowy skirts. Jackie O. Sunglasses and bikinis on the beach. Soon, on Friday’s I’ll be getting out at 3:30pm which will be…awesome! But summer just…is fun. It’s light hearted, it’s a season of happiness I mean, what is there to be UNHAPPY about during the summer? It’s laughter on a warm night sitting outside with a cool cider, patio bars and fun music. It’s sweet, it’s warm and it’s just summer. Like when we were kids, I still find something that puts my heart at ease about summer, running around yards with fresh cut grass barefoot, staying up late on the back porch, swimming in the dark…you get my drift.
This weekend, boyfriend and I are going to go to Georgetown to get him a pair of Topsiders (since the dog destroyed his last summer) for his belated birthday present and then I want to go to Target to get my 2008 swimsuit (though I hardly deem myself in shape enough to even try them on…)…after reviewing all my options I’m thinking i really like the one piece styles that are in this season – specifically this one from Target:
Anyone have any idea where else I can find swimsuits like this in different colors?
Anyhow back to the topic at hand. This summer is going to be especially fun – at the end of this month we’re going back to Boston to see two of my closest friends get married, hopefully a trip to Vermont sometime by the end of the summer, a beach weekend with my two college best gal pals, and a visit from the sister in August
This all makes me excited.
Anyhow, back to getting things done – stay tuned this afternoon for an announcement on a DC 20sb happy hour next Saturday night that Newlywedded wife and I have been planning this morning via email that I am TRES excited for! Are you coming?? (details later this afternoon)

and ask for bathing suits, have you tried old navy? they may have one similar to the one you like, not sure though.

target had something really similar in pink the other day… and I get all of my bathing suits @ victorias secret. they’re my fave.
