How is it…

by Heidi on May 19, 2008

It’s barely 2:30 on Monday and the things I have to do before 6pm on Thursday is doing nothing but growing.

I mean, I have two to-do lists at my desk…now I love to-do lists because holy crap when I want to be? I’m an organizational GODDESS. GODDESS I TELL YOU! But today? I’m already feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Work event tomorrow, boyfriend’s birthday dinner (which i still need to find the restaurant and make reservations), work wednesday night, and a concert Thursday after work…somewhere in there I need to find time to pack, rsvp to a wedding and find airfare for the end of June, do two loads of laundry, apply for jobs (more money, more money, no whamies, no whamies…STOP!) because me? I really want a new one. Pay bills, two work projects that I’m starting work on…

…Did I mention I’m only really going to be here for ONE full day (and two half days) next week? The turn around on that trip before we go to CT is insane (considering I’ll be working till 11pm on Wednesday at the gym)

AND!!!! I got the go ahead from the doctor to start training. I have a case of Runners Knee (as I predicted). The cure? Strengthening exercises, advil (arthritis advil!!) to ease joint pain, and a couple of knee braces. Awesome. At least I don’t have to piss away money on a Physical Therapist though I am thinking on splurging and getting myself a trainer at the gym to help me with leg exercises. So these next two weeks? I want to work on my legs, and then once we get back from CT next weekend I’ll pick up my running. My plan?

Mondays – run

Tuesday – x-train/weights

Wednesdays – run

Thursday – x-train/weights

Friday – off

Saturday – long run

Sunday – pilates or yoga (workin’ on the coorrreee)

I’m pretty excited. Though I’m also pretty sure I’m effing out of my mind but I was sitting in the doctors office thinking about finishing. Thinking about how my mom? Will actually be in Hartford to see me run. Thinking that by that time? Boyfriend and I might just might be engaged (he’s hinted…) and his family will be able to see me run. Also! trail running and enjoying a new england autumn…two of my favorite things! yesh, I’m pretty excited.

Also! I’m thinking since I’m going to be out of town this weekend I was hoping to find some GUEST BLOGGGERS for Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday. I’m bringing my laptop to Boston with me but I don’t know how much time I’ll have for blogging and no one likes a drunk blogger (i’m kidding!!) so if anyone’s interested let me know!

I am totally willing to guest-blog…if you don’t mind that I may be drunk while I do it! C’mon, drunk bloggers are AWESOME!

Note: I may not actually be drunk. But I WILL guest-blog.

I’m not a good guest blogger… what are your thoughts on the GG finale. I was a little disappointed. Didn’t leave much of a hanger..

I’m the same way with lists. I live by them, but I sometimes get so over-ambitions that they drive me totally insane. By the looks of your schedule, though, YIKES, lady! I’d say you’re doing great just staying afloat!

Did you know that our SO’s have the same birthday and that they turn the same age today? Weird.

Hooray for the knee diagnosis! Let the training begin. (Or, at least, keep going full steam ahead.)

Sometimes your life sounds like mine. I was looking at my calendar and realizing I am already booked to be somewhere or do something for more weekends of the summer than what I’ve got left free. Insane. But also oh so fun.

I’m glad your knee problems are nothing serious. I’m sure with the right exercised and strengthening, you can make knee pain a problem of the past! I am definitely interested in hearing more about your running adventures. I just picked my 2 marathons for later this year, and it’s always exciting to start training!

Man … I need to make a more planned exercise routine. I just need the inspiration to get out of bed in the mornings!
