Shopping cures all

by Heidi on April 14, 2008

I couldn’t shake my foul mood yesterday. From my friends blowing me off Saturday night, to cranky and pissy emails i got from the friend who is no more. I was just in a pissy mood which didn’t help when boyfriend had to be at the RNC at 9am thus the alarm went off around 7 and kept going off.

I decided I was going to go up to Target mid afternoon. This was after around 10am I got a call from a florist who was trying to deliver flowers to my old house and it took me all morning to figure out who the flowers were from until i got a call from J while I was eating lunch at potbelly asking what my address was. Kind of funny. I finished Felicity season 1 on DVD, and also met up with boyfriend for a nice dinner, which he showed up 45 minutes late to. Granted, it was a wee out of our control as he’s doing a training at the RNC but still…Heidi no likey being made to wait.

Not that I cared since I’m reading “Something Blue” the sequel to “Something borrowed” by Emily Giffin (which is AWESOME by the way. They should make it a movie. it would be great. Cameron Diaz could play the snotty girlfriend who the best friend steals the fiancee from because she plays snotty, materialistic girls oh so well) Maxie weren’t you reading that book – “Something Blue?” What did you think of it??

So yesterday, I got at Target, 2 pairs of Capri pants (tan and pink!!)

and

And I also got a couple of new bras (always fun and where else can you find cute ones for like…$10!)

Then a couple of things for the house, some new makeup, etc..

Tonight? I’m going back to target. To get another pair of capri’s (probably in blue) and this sweater…because I am obsessed with argyle these days.

Again…only $15!!!

Gah. I’m surrounded by awesome deals! I still do want those yellow pants from Gap but I know i need to try them on before I buy them.

In other news, one of my coworkers brought me flowers today – love the tulips! Make that…three bouquets? One of which is still en route.

So Pretty!!!

Today? Gym. Getting things done at work. Target (again!). And relaxing at home. I want to finish this book tonight :) I’m on a roll!!! (i’ll make a second attempt at that horrible book that one of my two bookclubs is meeting about next week – tuesday and thursday next week i have book clubs. One is the one that i started where we’re reading “London is the best city in America” (i need to figure out where we’re going to meet) and Tuesday is a new bookclub I’m joining where they’re reading “The Post-Birthday World” which I couldn’t get into on first attempt. I should try it again but it’s like…a gazillion pages and while i like descriptive books, I can only take so much descriptions. There is such thing as too much detail in my opinion. So we’ll see.

Anyhow, it’s still my birthday week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that always puts me in a better mood) so ima go, and pop over to run an errand and then pop down to the gym or something.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who observes birthday week. My husband thinks I’m crazy – but one day is just not enough!

I love those two books. Something Borrowed I liked a little better than Blue. I cried at the end of Borrowed. I think she has another one…Baby Proof??? I didn’t like that as much.

But I agree – they should be made into a movie!

And Oh my gosh I love tulips! Look at you with your three bouquets. Just goes to show you are loved and thought of (forget about those d-bags!)

    Happy Birthday week!

Target always has the best books…I loved both “Something Borrowed” and “Something Blue”. They are two of the best books. I can’t wait ’til she writes another book. At least, I hope she writes another!

Something Blue was a great book! It was left in the apartment I stayed in while studying abroad, so I read it without reading the first one. I really loved it though!

yay for good books and good shopping!

I really enjoyed “Something Blue” I was upset with myself when I found out “Something Borrowed” was the first book, which I still haven’t read. Ph, well, maybe I’ll get it right the next time.

    Cute pants by the way!

I love emily giffin! I still like Something Borrowed better than Something Blue, but you’re right, it’d make a great movie and Cameron Diaz would be good as Darcy! I love Target too…you’re lucky you live near one!

i got that argyle sweater in brown and pink – so cute! sadly, i had to return the green floral jacket bc it was too big and they didn’t have my size at the store :(

both of those emily giffin books are great. i’m dying to read baby proof. and love the one you’re with comes out next month!!

We are so in sync, at least in regards to this post! I loved Something Borrowed, embrace argyle and adore tulips.

(I agree with Maxie about Something Blue. I think it was a little too repetitive for me. I just saw on Amazon that EG has a new book… can’t wait!)

How do you find your book groups? I think I’d like to join one.
