I have a hard time finishing things I write as well. I have had so many wonderful ideas for novels that never made it past the first chapter. I’m working on my ultimate story write now, but I’ve learned not to push it. If you are feeling uninspired, forget the writing part. The best thing a writer can do is just live. Some other writer advice I have heard is to try to write a page everyday, even if you think it’s terrible, just write. It doesn’t even have to be your story. The point is getting the words and ideas out on paper. It’s like a muscle you should exercise. Also, another thing writers must do is read. Reading helps inspire and puts you in the seat of your audience. I hope any of that helped. And good luck! )

Interesting, I just started writing again and I am friends with a few authors — two live locally…………..we get together from time to time and you should meet them.

I love writing and I already have my outline and plot good to go for mine.

My blog’s full of advice, but it’s mostly centred around writing Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror. Still, you may find it useful, as much of it involves problems that affect all genres – how to write a killer opening paragraph, how to avoid or overcome Writer’s Block, how to work with plot hooks, working with editors, useful books for writers, and how the publishing industry works. All the good stuff (I’ll figure out how to get my massive head back out through the door in a minute).

The real advice, though, is this: Do it.

Nobody ever got published by wanting to get published. They get published by sitting down, making time, writing and polishing, then submitting their work. You already know that you want to do it, and acknowledging that is a far bigger step than many people give it credit for.
