2004
My pals and I went to a kegger. A gal pal of mine K chugged a cosmo next to me and i saw friends do keg stands on Guinness Kegs. It was a Thursday night and I remember the next day being very very painful at my coop job. I also remember the snow storm and walking back to my dorm with a nice lookin’ German boy while getting chased down by my now Ex (who was still in friend stage at the time). My pal K ended up with a nice lookin’ Irish boy who I think had kissed everyone at the party because hey…if you’re Irish you get kissed no? On a 1-10 scale? Probably a 7.5 on the fun level.
2005
I was in DC and didn’t do anything special. I think I had just broken up with the Ex for the first time around that time so I wasn’t going out much. I also didn’t know too many people down here so I was a hermit-like intern. Fun Level on a 1-10 scale? 2.
2006
By far one of the best St. Patrick’s Days ever. Seriously. My pals J and Norbs staked out at the bar around 2. I left my internship around 2:30 and got there by 3. We drank Green beer, we had food, we danced, we drank and had beers bought for us and left the bar around 1:30 in the AM. Two days Later, I went to the St.Patty’s day parade in Southie with an old roommate and one of my best gal pals S. MORE GREEN BEER!!! And more drinking. And more laughing. That night, I hung out with L at her old place with her now Ex and a few friends – we guitar hero’ed it up. This was probably the beginning of my year end run as far as collegiate binge drinking went. School was winding down and well…why not! Fun Level on a 1-10 scale? 9.5 (i had some weird thing going on with my eye because of contacts at the time so they hurt. thus the .5-)

Slainté!!!
2007
I don’t remember what if anything we did…perhaps drank? Likely? no! I went out to Adams Morgan with my gal H who I wrote about a few weeks ago. Boyfriend went to a party with his friends and I ended up going home even after H tried to get me to go back to base with her. No dice! Decent night but m’eh. Fun level on a 1-10 scale? 7.5
2008
Though boyfriend and I didn’t do anything special, we went to church and had free booze there last weekend and this weekend I made the awesome cupcakes, and we enjoyed each others company with some wine. Tonight we’ll share Guinness and perhaps a cider? We’ll see. Either way, it’s nice not to feel the need to get TANKED every St. Pattys Day. Granted, if I were in Boston I’d be singing a different tune. But I’m not.
P.S. Wednesday I’ll have my first guest blogger on my quarter life crisis/turning 25 series. If you’re interested (i have to email a couple of you) email me at heidi[at]legallyheidi[dot]com
I want to do Wednesdays/Fridays between now and April 12 – so i need 8
I think it’s doable right? I don’t quite know how the guest post works but I’ll figure it out.

This all sounds like so much fun. GAH! i’m so busy/trying to save money/not Irish and able to justify all the fun I want to have.
I have such a bad memory, I can barely remember last year! I’m kinda anti-st. patty’s day and I’m in Boston. I just get really frustrated by drunk asshole Bostonians who think just because they are .4389% Irish, they can get wasted and be complete morons. I know, I’m such a party pooper!
Where were you in that picture for 2006??
That was one of the best St Paddy’s days of my LIFE.
2005 was awesome too…
MMM Green BEER!
Hopefully today will be different for you!
Happy St. Patty’s day!
