I am upset…

by Heidi on March 17, 2008

You see, for the past few weeks I’ve been putting off finding a dress for Easter. Easter this year you see, is kind of a big deal as it is also my First Confirmation/First Communion. Since boyfriend’s mother will be my proxy Sponsor, it is important to me to dress the part of good Catholic School Girl. Not only to impress her but also…well to appropriate for Church in general.

So yesterday on our Sunday errand run, I saw a pretty dress at Target. The dress mind you. I had seen it earlier in the week at the Target up in Columbia Heights but they didn’t have my size (of course) and I was in no mood to try on clothes so I didn’t think twice about it. But then I saw it again. Saw awesome reviews of it online and decided I wanted it.

But the last of my size was snatched right before I could grab it.

Low and behold the beautious dress here.

I want. I really really want. I went home last night after realizing I should have bought it then to buy it online and expedite shipping but oh no…

“Will ship in 2-6 weeks”

WHAT?! I hate you Target.com. I hate you I hate you I hate you.  Seriously there is a lot of loathing going on here because I have just called to four separate Targets and NONE of them have my dress in my size.

HATE HATE HATE HATE!!!!!

I want to throw a temper tantrum but alas…*sigh* I’ll persevere and search the mall high and low for a DECENT priced dress that is as cute as that one. *sigh*

Stupid dress shopping. This is what I get for being so effing picky.

Any suggestions as to where to shop??? Or does anyone want to buy said dress in a size 6 and ship overnight to me? I’ll pay you!!! :) :) (I’m only half kidding here)

Try Filene’s Basement at 14th and F, Loehmann’s in Friendship Heights, or the juniors department at the Nordstrom in Pentagon City. All of those spots usually have nice girly dresses for a good price.

cute dress! I was just at target and they didn’t have it though or i’d totally ship it to you.

I don’t know where to find nice dresses because I only buy skanky ones.

So sorry about the dress :( Target always has such cute stuff, but with cheap cute stuff comes lack of selection as everyone else thinks it is just as cute and cheap as you.

Sadly, I have no helpful advice. I can only commiserate. Being a normal size always leaves you with nothing. I can’t tell you the amount of times there are sales where everything is extra large or extra small.

I love how you totally name drop the Target in Columbia Heights like it’s always been there. I’m so happy that there’s finally a Target IN the District.

Still, though. They ALREADY sold out of your size? GEEZ. That sucks.
