The party starts now!

by Heidi on March 7, 2008

Welcome to my ultimate Blog party kickoff which is hosted over at Five Minutes For Mom. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m 24 (almost 25) i work in the nonprofit industry in Washington, DC and spend the bulk of my time working too much, watching too much MSNBC and even more trashy teevee, shopping, and trying to lose the weight I’ve gained since entering the workforce. I live on Capitol Hill with a darlin’ pup and have a fabulous boyfriend.

To get things started… every good party needs a good playlist right?

So the ultimate blog party is totally happenin’ here with the following tunes. Each has a very special memory for me and old parties at college. But depending on the party…so is the mix – I present to you my 2 party mixes. For the dance party and my favorite – the karaoke party. Enjoy!!

Get your dance on gals!! (and guys?)

No party however, is complete without some karaoke action! So here’s your karaoke list! (disregard the dupes!)

Now that I’ve got you all settled into the party I’m going to spend a minute to reminisce about some of my favorite parties. I had a few of them. Seriously…my friends and I knew how to rock out. See below for my own lil party gal self in action in a blast from the Heidi Past….

Feel free to share your own favorite party songs and party tales! I look forward to meeting y’all!!

This is my pal S and I Halloween 2003. See. We had some rad costume parties!

The year that i turned 21 we used to party at what i called the Sailing House because a few of the guys that lived there were on the sailing team. This was shortly after my 21st – the last party of spring semester before the sailing house kind of…disintegrated. These are my girls from college. E and S.

My pals and I used to be karaoke QUEENS. Here’s us in action at our former watering hole.

I had even been known to party at other schools. This was at RIT at a Champagne Party with my Ex. We were all singing along to some old skool “Cake” i think. Thats me in the white dress.

I took a brief hiatus from partying in 2004-spring 2005 because i was too busy/interning in DC. But came back in full force Summer 2005 as you can see here. L in the pink is one of my favorite gals ever.

Homecoming 2005 with my gals. What an awesome weekend that was.

Democrats…also know how to party. So much so that that was the one night I seriously probably should have gone to the hospital. Gin + Buckets = BAD NEWS. I haven’t drank Gin since.

Final Semester of College was rung in after a bad breakup (clearly we were talking by the end of January) and a bunch of pals turning 23. This was one of the greatest parties ever. It ended with a water bottle fight. You can sort of see the remnants of that fight here.

But really? Nothing says party like St.Pattys day!

Or Marathon Monday in Boston for that matter. This was one of the few frat parties I went to.

Marathon Monday which happened to be a week or so after this wreck of a party. Yeah Birthday parties!!! Happy 23rd to me!!

But really? Nothing says party like formal wear and a can of bud light at 3pm in the afternoon. Classy i tell you.

Two words….senior. boozecruise. okay that may have been three. Don’t ask because…well…to be honest…i don’t remember. :X

Though my favorite thing about NU? Getting all the seniors dressed up and serving free champagne at 4 in the afternoon. It’s funny because it was with 2 glasses of champagne that I met my ex’s mother for the first time. I’m the queen of good impressions what can i say.

My Boston Party Girl scene was ending around this point time. Miss these girls – J and Norbs. They were fab. This was Norb’s going away party. Can’t wait to see that girl in June.

But you know…just cause i graduated didn’t mean I couldn’t party down. I could. Lucky for me I moved in with boys who knew how to party

I will dearly miss that house. This was the day i moved in in June 2006. We made up…slip and flip. Slip & Slide + Flip Cup. Yuengling…is not good for flip cup though. FYI.

Yes we had a beer pong table in our basement. Thats how awesome that house was.

But alas, times change, and when i turned 24, my party shoes got thrown in the back of closet. Enter…real job. Enter…9-6 job that is not happy with happy hours that last till midnight I was once in the habit of doing.
