I find it funny that…

I won’t drive in DC however, I will drive from our apartment to National Airport. DC drivers make me insanely nervous, but city driving in general makes me anxious. I’m one of the worst back seat drivers ever. I think this is because L and I and her ex were in a…not so good crash on Comm Ave coming off of Storrow Drive in Boston when some dude pretty much t-boned us as we were crossing an intersection. It was a big mess. Needless to say…i don’t trust other drivers. Especially in the city. But this morning, I drove to National to bring boyfriend to the airport to pick up the rental car to go to NY/NJ this weekend for his friends wedding. I must say…driving back wasn’t half that bad!

Though at the same time, it did take me five years to be okay with driving in Boston – the first time i drove there was driving a UHaul van to move my ex from his dorm to his fathers a few blocks away but driving in Boston, moving shit and trying to get back to campus for the Poli Sci reception…and still look presentable…is no easy feat.

I hate driving in cities. But driving in the Vermont…now that I love love lurrrrve. Now to go pack, shower, puppy-proof and get this show on the road in hopes that I’ll have time to stop at Nordstrom. Though that might have to wait till next week.

I hate driving anywhere. I feel like it is all I do! I hate when other people drive though, I’m just not comfortable. I basically stomp on my imaginary brake every two seconds. I’m awful!

I like driving in cities. That stress, at least to me, spices up the days and makes driving fun, rather than mundane and repetitious. I feel like I’m doing something driving in a big city.

Totally hear you. I HATE driving in NYC and will do anything to avoid it. However, give me an open road and no traffic lights and great scenery? Can’t tear me away from the wheel.

Oh I totally agree. I can never imagine driving in Manhattan, it actually gives me the chills thinking about all of the people I’d hit. I’d hit all of the asshats like myself who, as pedestrians, think they have the right of way ALWAYS, and just dart into the road.

    But suburb driving is amazing.

i’m a new driver and I live in the Bronx, NY. Lawwwd! We rented a car so that i can get some practice….i now think I don’t want to buy a car. If I didn’t have to take 2 buses and a train to wk I wouldn’t buy one.

Happy driving in VT to ya! Enjoy!
