So other than the fact that I don’t have much of substance to write…i will leave you with more of Heidi’s cooking goodness.
This morning I have had a meeting with the priest at Church, played with the pup in the tennis courts at the park (we can’t let her off leash unless it’s fully enclosed as she would likely run far away and never look back. Then we came home…and I reorganized two of the six bookshelves we have (what!? We have a lot of books) and themed them by color. It looks pretty good. I’m going to do the same with my bookshelf so it’s all pretty and colorful also
Other than that I finally started Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster. I’ve been getting great reviews of it since I ordered it the other night. I finished Ivy Chronicles this morning which was really cute.
My Review? (as if you all give a crap…)
Cute book, most likely unrealistic? But then again I don’t acquaint myself with the doings of upper class fifth avenue parents who are trying to get their chill’ns into fancy NYC Private schools so maybe it is realistic. Either way, the book itself, a great lil quick read. The ending (which I won’t give away) was a little surprising in the sense that you see this woman who seemingly has everything go to nothing, start up this business and learn over the course of a year that her priorities and values have changed. Certain subplots were a little surprising and you think “how the eff did that happen” but over the flow was good and the characters are all laughably crazy or so do-gooder that you just want to hug them. I give it a 4 out of 5. Now go run to your local Borders and read it!
Other do-gooder thing of the day (mine. not the books)
I cooked a grade A classic saturday afternoon lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup. The weather is absolutely perfect here in DC – i’ve been contemplating going to the gym – and I know I will eventually…when i get around to it…boyfriend and puppeh are napping on the couch, and I am going to get ready to go to the gym in a few…I’m possibly going out with an old roommate tonight which I’m excited about if only because I don’t get out much anymore and it’ll be nice to be…social for a change. How ’bout that??

Happy Saturday…and btw…Happy Groundhog’s Day!!! Apparently there’s 6 more weeks of winter – while that doesn’t necessarily suck too bad for us here in DC cause winter hasn’t shown it’s real face around here ANYHOW, it does suck a bit for my friends back up in the Northeast…I’ll just laugh at them as they shovel their sidewalks and try to trudge to the T in mounds of snow…until they laugh at me from their couch thanks to snowdays on a tuesday…winter you doubleedged sward you >:| Grrr…oh well.
Onward to finishing up some errands!
