I hate bandwagoners! Is that a word? I don't think so, but you know what I mean.

There's this guy I went to high school with... he really liked the dodgers... and he also was kind of into the Yankees (when it was "in" to like the yankees and wear the red baseball cap backwards a la Fred Durst...remember that?).
Anyway, once he went to college (and no where near boston, might I add) he became this DIE HARD redsox fan... he goes down to spring training and everything! I just don't get it. Crazy people that get on my f'n nerves. I mean everyone picks a side out of the top two teams, but I can't stand it when people act like they've liked them FOREVER. gag.

I actually wrote a post like this back in October when my Phils made it to playoffs (though we did absolutely nothing with that playoff ticket).

I am a diehard fan. I go to games probably once a week during the season, even if I sit all the way up top. I hate the pink Phillies hats, and I hate it when people have absolutely no idea what is happening. I have a dear friend (and I lover her despite this) that is obsessed with Chase Utley and still has no idea what position he plays.

I also hate that Phillies hats suddenly sold out of stores the second we beat out the Mets to play the Rockies- it was like everyone suddenly became Phillies fans.

Now you have me all worked up and angry again.

This is going to be a stupid, pointless comment, but... fuck it:

I love the Yankees.

And hate the pink shirts.

My Posada shirt is blue all the way.

Oh, and if we aren't getting drunk together and watching a Yankee game sometime in 2008 I'm going to CRY.

Yikes! I know what you mean, but not every Sox fan is a bandwagoner. I've been a Sox fan through thick and thin, 15 years ago when they were losing to now when they're winning. And I think A LOT of us have been in that boat.

I think that there are bandwagoners in any sport/team. When teams start doing well, it is inevitable more people will want to go to the games. I've never been too into basketball but now that the Celts are kicking it, I have been to a bunch of games and enjoy them a lot. But I am also aware I'm a Celtics bandwagoner. It's fun though and I don't think it's such a horrible thing.

However ,my roommate and I were just discussing last night how annoying it was a few years back when the Yankees were doing well and Bostonians chanted "Yankees suck!" at everyyy event you could think of. I mean, clearly they weren't sucking, so it just made us look bad. But again, i think every team has those obnoxious annoying fans. And Bostonians just tend to be a little more high-strung/fanatical in general.
